Samara Costa Rica
Samara is perfect for a tropical beach vacation. It is considered one of the finest and safest beaches in Costa Rica. Stretching for 4.5 miles (7km) around Samara Bay it provides hours of fun for beach combing, sun bathing, canoeing, swimming, snorkeling and diving in calm shallow waters. The warm waters of the bay are enjoyable at any time of year.
One of the unique features of Samara Beach is that coral and rock reefs protect the beach area. That means that any waves are minimized. And, more importantly, there is no undertow current to worry about. It's a safe beach and perfect for couples or families with children to enjoy the many water activities available.
Since Samara Beach is not crowded and is outlined with palm trees and tropical vegetation, it is the perfect "family" beach. There is lots of room for exploring or taking leisurely walks on the beach.
The village of Samara has around 3000 inhabitants and is located about 5 minutes walk on the beach from our hotel. In Samara you find a wide range of restaurants with typical or international cuisine, supermarkets as well as small grocery stores, 2 banks, pharmacies, souvenir stores and art galleries.
For nightlife, you will find various lounges and bars on the main street and on the beach. There you can dance to hot Latino music in one of the local venues.
Activities in Samara are plentiful, from sailing trips to horseback riding, surfing or sport fishing.
